On Monday, April 20, at around 1:00 a. m., the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police were called to a single vehicle crash on Highway 11 in Maisonville Township. After talking to the driver, officers reportedly found that the driver had been drinking. The individual was arrested and taken to the Kirkland Lake detachment for further testing.
Following the investigation, Christopher Faria, a 36-year-old from Kitchener, faces charges of:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus Operation while impaired – alcohol Careless driving
The charges against him have not yet been proven in court, and he is considered innocent until proven guilty.
The accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A. D. L. S) along with a seven-day vehicle impoundment. He has since been released from custody and is expected to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on July 2, 2026.
