A motorcycle club in London will organize a group ride this Saturday to pay tribute to one of their members who lost his life in an accident at the end of September.
Steven Steinsland, 36, tragically passed away on September 21 when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Sarnia Road and Castlegrove Boulevard in northwest London.
Steinsland was part of the London Free Riders group. On Saturday, around a hundred riders are expected to gather at noon at the Tim Hortons on Admiral Drive at Veterans Memorial Parkway. From there, they will ride together to a memorial set up in Steinsland’s honor at Sarnia and Castlegrove.
His mother Kim Davies mentioned that Steinsland’s death has deeply affected many people who knew him.
“He was larger than life, helped everybody, loved his friends and his family,” she said. “It’s overwhelming how many people knew him and loved him.”

His father Mark Steinsland shared that Steven had a wide circle of friends, including many from his workplace at Labatt brewery.
“It’s an amazing group of people, they liked to have fun and help people,” he said.
Davies noted that Steven “would be blown away” by the idea of a group ride. Riders are encouraged to assemble in the Tim Hortons parking lot starting at noon with kickstands up at 1 p. m. If it rains, the ride will be moved to Sunday.
A memorial notice posted online states that there will be a celebration of life for Steve Steinsland scheduled for a later date.
Steven Steinsland will be remembered by friends and family for his love for dogs and motorcycles. (Submitted)
