A 27-year-old man from Windsor has lost his life after a two-vehicle accident in Chatham-Kent on Friday.

Elgin County OPP, along with Chatham-Kent EMS and Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue, were called to the scene of a serious crash involving a van and a sedan on Highway 40 and Electric Line shortly after 5 p. m.

According to police, the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 40 remained closed for several hours Friday evening between Robin Line and Bush Line as investigators, including members of the OPP’s West Region traffic incident management and enforcement team, worked at the site.
