A 38-year-old man from Oxford County lost his life in a collision in Tillsonburg on Monday afternoon.
The crash involved a motorcycle and an SUV and took place on Simcoe Street, situated between Westtown Line and Goshen Street, according to West Region OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk.
Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, arrived at the scene shortly after 5 p. m.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV did not suffer any injuries, said Sanchuk.
Sanchuk expressed gratitude on behalf of the OPP to the Good Samaritans who came forward to help. “You made a very difficult situation just a little bit easier.”
Authorities are urging anyone who might have seen the accident or has dash camera or video footage involving the motorcycle and SUV to reach out to the Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
