One individual has died, and five others are injured – three of them critically – following a head-on collision on Sunday involving two cars in Kemptville, as reported by Ontario Provincial Police.
The accident occurred on County Road 44 just north of Beach Road at approximately 9:30 a. m., according to Leeds Grenville paramedic service deputy chief Jonathan Sylvester.
Six patients were transported to the Civic campus of The Ottawa Hospital, with one taken by air, Sylvester noted.
Three patients remain in critical condition. OPP Sgt. Erin Cranton mentioned that one person was pronounced dead at the hospital.
One vehicle had two people inside, while the other had four, Sylvester stated.
County Road 44 was closed between Bedell and Beach roads shortly before 1 p. m., with OPP advising drivers to anticipate an extended closure.
