PETAWAWA – Around 30 courageous individuals took a chilly plunge into the frigid waters of the Ottawa River on April 1, braving the cold to show their support for animals in need.
The third annual Polar Bear Plunge-raiser benefiting the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre was held at Jubilee Lodge and Marina at Garrison Petawawa. This year’s location changed from Catwalk Pond at Centennial Park in 2019 and Petawawa Point in 2020. Due to the COVID pandemic, there were no events held in 2021 and 2022.
