A fire broke out at a funeral home in Oshawa, Ont. on Monday, and Durham police have classified it as suspicious.
Oshawa Fire Services urged people to steer clear of the area between King Street and Mary Street in a message posted on social media platform X at 5:12 a. m.
According to Kristie Jones from the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), there were no injuries reported due to the fire.
The Mc Intosh-Anderson-Kellam Funeral Home acknowledged the incident in a statement on its website, mentioning that “steps are being taken to secure the property.”
“The situation is under control, and the safety and well-being of our families, staff, and community remain our highest priority,” the statement read.
