A woman from Sarnia is in high spirits after matching the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in the exact order during the July 25 LOTTARIO draw, winning herself $100,000.
Kristal N is a mother to three kids and a grandmother to one.
She mentioned that she regularly plays the lottery, and this is her first significant win.
“I always add ENCORE to my tickets,” she said while at Ontario Lottery and Gaming’s (OLG) Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her prize.
Kristal found out about her big win while enjoying her usual Sunday morning ritual of sipping coffee, watching the news, and checking her tickets on the OLG app.
“I saw I matched six ENCORE numbers, so I took my ticket back to the store where I bought it. Everyone was shocked. I called my cousin to share the news and asked, ‘Are you sitting down?’”
Kristal believes this will mark a new beginning for her family as she plans to use her winnings for paying some bills, saving for retirement, helping her children out, and traveling to Greece and Panama.
“We’ll celebrate with an end-of-summer get-together,” she added.
The winning ticket was purchased at Star Variety on Confederation Street in Sarnia.
