A woman from Sarnia is in high spirits after correctly matching the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in the exact sequence during the July 25 LOTTARIO draw, resulting in a $100,000 win.
Kristal N is a mother of three and grandmother to one.
She mentioned she’s been playing the lottery for years and this marks her first significant win.
“I always add ENCORE to my tickets,” she said while at Ontario Lottery and Gaming’s (OLG) Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her prize.
Kristal shared that she found out about her big win during her typical Sunday morning routine of sipping coffee, watching the news, and checking her tickets on the OLG app.
“I noticed I matched six ENCORE numbers, so I took my ticket back to the store where I bought it. Everyone was shocked. I called my cousin to share the news and asked, ‘Are you sitting down?’”
Kristal expressed that this will be a new beginning for her family as she intends to use her winnings to pay off some bills, save for retirement, assist her children, and travel to Greece and Panama.
“We’ll celebrate with an end-of-summer get-together,” she concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Star Variety on Confederation Street in Sarnia.
