Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Oxford County report that a 50-year-old man from London has died, while another driver is hospitalized with serious injuries after a severe accident Thursday morning in East Zorra-Tavistock.
Emergency services responded to the intersection of Cassel Sideroad and Highway 59 at approximately 5:10 a. m., according to police. The collision involved a pickup truck and an SUV.
The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The pickup truck driver remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Highway 59 will be closed for several hours between Cassel Sideroad and Maplewood Sideroad as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
