A woman from Sarnia is in high spirits after hitting the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in the correct order during the July 25 LOTTARIO draw, winning $100,000.
Kristal N is a mother of three and grandmother to one.
She mentioned that she regularly plays the lottery and this marks her first significant win.
“I always add ENCORE to my tickets,” she said while visiting Ontario Lottery and Gaming’s (OLG) Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her prize.
Kristal found out about her big win while following her usual Sunday morning routine of sipping coffee, watching the news, and checking her tickets on the OLG app.
“I saw I matched six ENCORE numbers, so I took my ticket back to the store where I bought it. Everyone was shocked. I called my cousin to share the news and asked, ‘Are you sitting down?’”
She stated this will mark a new beginning for her family as she plans to use her winnings to pay some bills, save for retirement, assist her children, and travel to Greece and Panama.
“We’ll celebrate with an end-of-summer get-together,” she added.
The winning ticket was purchased at Star Variety on Confederation Street in Sarnia.
