York Regional Police’s #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau has arrested a practitioner following an investigation into a sexual assault that occurred in Richmond Hill.
On Sunday, August 30, 2026, the victim visited an acupuncture massage appointment at a site near Major Mackenzie Drive East and Bayview Avenue. During this session, the victim experienced sexual assault.
The next day, Jianji LI, 61, from Richmond Hill, was taken into custody and charged with Sexual Assault.
Investigators are sharing his photo because they think there may be more victims.
A sexual assault refers to any unwanted contact of a sexual nature, while sexual interference involves touching someone under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose.
York Regional Police encourages anyone who believes they might have been a victim of sexual assault to come forward and report it. There’s no time limit on prosecuting sexual offences; offenders can face charges long after the crime took place.
