A former lawyer in Ontario is being accused of defrauding individuals out of millions, and authorities are urging anyone affected to come forward.

Pawanjeet Singh Mann, 52, a past lawyer from Brampton who ran PJ Mann Law Professional Corporation, had his license revoked by the Law Tribunal of Ontario in July 2025 after it was found that Mann was knowingly involved in a mortgage fraud scheme back in late 2019.

From June to July this year, Peel Regional Police’s fraud bureau reported receiving several complaints claiming Mann had taken part in fraudulent activities.

Following an investigation that started in August, police allege that Mann was behind four different mortgage and cheque fraud schemes, leading to losses of around $4.3 million for victims.

Mann was arrested on Aug. 21 and faces charges including four counts of fraud over $5,000, four counts of possession of property obtained through crime, three counts of criminal breach of trust, and two counts for using forged documents.

Peel Regional Police announced Monday that they believe there could be more victims. Anyone with information about the investigation or who thinks they might have been affected is encouraged to reach out. They can contact the fraud bureau at 905-453-2121 extension 3335.
