Kristina Mandaric, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 6, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on January 18, 1947, in Barum, Germany. Kristina’s life was filled with love and kindness for everyone she cared about.
In 1967, Kristina married her soulmate, Ivan Mandaric. Their journey together lasted over six decades as they built a warm and united family while raising their three sons: John, Michael, and Arnold. Kristina will always hold the memory of her son John close to her heart; he predeceased her in 2024.
For 30 years, Kristina worked as a custodian starting at Ogden Street School before moving to Hammarskjold High School. She continued there until her retirement in 2012.
Kristina’s greatest joy came from being with her family-especially her three grandchildren who were the light of her life. She will be missed dearly by her husband Ivan Mandaric; sons John, Mike (Jane), Arnold (Kristin); grandchildren Branden (Miranda), Ashton (Ellie), and Paytyn; as well as extended family and many close friends.
A celebration of Kristina’s life will take place on Monday July 13, 2026, at noon at Sargent and Sons Funeral Home located at 21 North Court St. All family members and friends whose lives she touched are invited to honor her wonderful journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in recognition of Kristina’s generous spirit and lifelong dedication to helping others.
