A disturbing event has occurred in Markham where a psychologist, Farrokh Sedigh-Deilami, 61, faces charges of sexual assault and sexual interference after a young person reported being inappropriately touched during an appointment. This incident is said to have happened on June 29 at a clinic located near John Street and Bayview Avenue. During the session, the youth claimed that Sedigh-Deilami gave a massage and made unwanted physical contact.
Although the victim did not sustain physical injuries, the emotional repercussions are significant. Following a search warrant executed at a residence in Markham on July 4, York Regional Police took Sedigh-Deilami into custody. His photo has been released as authorities suspect there may be other victims who have yet to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to reach out to the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit or Crime Stoppers. UL Lawyers Legal Team offers insights into legal issues affecting the community.
