A seven-year-old girl is currently missing, and a male kayaker has tragically lost his life at the same conservation area in Hamilton on Wednesday.

The child disappeared at Binbrook Conservation Area, situated near Highway 56 and Kirk Road.

Rescue operations are actively being conducted by Hamilton police and fire services.

While searching for the girl, emergency responders received reports of a kayaker who had capsized in the vicinity. The man was rescued from the water and transported to the hospital, where he was later declared dead.

Authorities have not provided any descriptions regarding the missing girl or the deceased man.

This is a developing news story; more updates will follow.
