The City of Windsor got a total of $9,284,338 in the 2025-2026 fiscal year for hosting Caesars Windsor.

This money is used in the annual budget to support infrastructure projects like new playground equipment and the new cricket pitch in Derwent Park.

“It helps offset the amount we have to get from the property tax base to deliver some of the projects that we deliver,” said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. “We’re extremely appreciative for the partnership that we have with Caesars Windsor and OLG because it actually pays strong dividends to the City of Windsor.”

Since a casino opened in Windsor back in 1994, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has given over $140-million to the City of Windsor through the Municipality Contribution Agreement.

“OLG truly values being a long-standing partner in the city of Windsor and to communities across Ontario. Every dollar of OLG’s profit is returned to Ontario to support the things people care about most, like critical infrastructure, local initiatives, and community events. Those dollars are making a difference here in Windsor. The impact wouldn’t be possible without the great team at Caesars, whose work supports both the local economy and community well-being,” said Kathleen Devine, OLG Senior Municipal Relations Manager.

The City of Windsor receives its municipal contribution quarterly. These funds have already been included in the 2026 municipal budget.
