Ontario Provincial Police report that they have taken two people into custody in Oakville after spotting a vehicle stolen from Norfolk County.
On June 20 at around 3:20 p. m., officers were on patrol on Concession 12 Townsend when they noticed someone driving a car that had been reported stolen in Norfolk County.
The police say the vehicle drove away but was later found in Waterford, Ont. The suspects fled from law enforcement once again.
The following day, Halton police officers located the same vehicle in Oakville. Authorities confirmed it was the same person who had been driving the vehicle previously. Both the driver and a passenger were arrested.
Investigators conducted a search of the vehicle, uncovering a significant amount of suspected stolen property, which included coin collections, military medals, bank cards, checks, cell phones, and other personal items.
Also discovered inside the vehicle were various forms of personal identification like passports, driver’s licenses, and health cards.
As a result, 42-year-old Christopher Schram from Norfolk County faces multiple charges:
Operation while prohibited (eight counts) Driving while under suspension (two counts) Dangerous operation Flight from peace officer Theft of motor vehicle Possession of break-in instruments Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court.
Brittany Campbell, 38, also hailing from Norfolk County is charged with:
Theft of motor vehicle Possession of break-in instruments Public mischief Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada
Authorities state that some recovered items belong to individuals both within and outside Norfolk County. They suspect that some belongings may be connected to incidents not yet reported to law enforcement.
