Civic Holiday Hours in Windsor-Essex

The long weekend in August signifies the middle of summer travel.

This Monday is the Civic Holiday, which is a provincial holiday. All provincial and municipal government offices will be closed for the day.

All Service Ontario branches are also closed, but you can handle some transactions like health card and driver’s licence renewals online.

Most banks, credit unions, and financial institutions won’t be open.

The 311 call centre will not be operating on Monday, but you can access the 311 service online. For any municipal emergencies, such as a fallen tree or sewer issues, please call (519) 255-6326.

The 211 call centre will remain available around the clock as usual.

In Windsor, garbage and yard waste collection for both residential and commercial properties will continue as scheduled. However, the public drop-off site and chemical waste disposal facilities on Central Avenue will be closed on Monday.

Community centres, customer care centres, and arenas in Windsor will all be closed on Monday except for any pre-scheduled rentals that were arranged beforehand.

Day camps run by the City of Windsor along with SUPIE programming will not take place on Monday.

The indoor pools and fitness centres at WFCU Centre and Gino and Liz Marcus Community Centre will also be closed on this day.

Ice rinks at WFCU Centre are available for rentals from 8 a. m. to 3 p. m., with free public skating offered from 10 a. m. to noon.

Outdoor pools at Atkinson, Central, Lanspeary, Mic Mac, Remington Booster, and Riverside Centennial will be open on Monday. Be sure to check the online swim schedule for specifics.

Sandpoint Beach in east Windsor is closed indefinitely; however, the beach area and parkland remain accessible.

All public beaches across the county will stay open if weather conditions allow it and water quality is safe.

Splash pads located in city parks are open daily from 8 a. m. to 8 p. m.

Both branches of Windsor Public Library and Essex County Library will close their doors on Sunday and Monday.

No parking enforcement will occur within the City of Windsor on Sunday or Monday. Metered street parking is free during these days while garages and surface lots still require payment as usual. Although payment offices are shut down, you can make payments online instead.

The H-4 Community Hub at Windsor Water World remains open around the clock.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park hours are set from 10 a. m. to 6 p. m. on Monday.

The office at Lakeview Park Marina along with its fuel dock operates from 8 a. m. to 8 p. m., while launch ramps become available starting at 6 a. m.

Buses operated by Transit Windsor follow their Sunday/holiday schedule for this day. The customer service office at Chatham Street West terminal alongside sales office located on North Service Road East won’t be available either; if you need to buy a bus pass urgently check out alternate purchase points listed on Transit Windsor’s website instead.

The Chimczuk Museum along with Francois Baby House won’t welcome visitors this coming Monday since it’s one of their regular off days; however streetcar #351 situated at Legacy Beacon opens its doors between 11 a. m.-7 p. m.

A number of LCBO stores along with Beer Store locations plan to operate from 11 a. m.-6 p. m. on Monday too-be sure check your specific location first! Supermarkets or convenience shops selling alcoholic drinks might either close early or reduce their hours entirely.

This coming Monday Devonshire Mall in Windsor welcomes shoppers between 11a. m.-6 pm while Tecumseh Mall has hours set from 11a. m.-5 pm ; additionally , Windsor Crossing outlet mall located La Salle runs between 10 am -6pm!
