A key event in the region’s cultural scene kicks off this Thursday at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

The Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Art is back for 2026, featuring artwork from Wellington, Dufferin, Grey, Huron, and Perth Counties.

This exhibition by the Elora Fergus Arts Council showcases pieces chosen through a professional jury process, gathering submissions from both up-and-coming and established artists in the area. The thoughtfully selected collection presents a rich variety of voices, styles, and mediums.

The artworks demonstrate technical skill and craftsmanship while reflecting the unique viewpoints that shape the local artistic community, highlighting the creativity and depth within it.

Running for over forty years now, this show aims to deepen appreciation for art’s role in community life while offering artists a chance to present their work to a wider audience.

The exhibition will officially open with a reception on Thursday evening, where more than $3,500 in prizes will be awarded to select artists. Visitors can explore the exhibit during regular museum hours until June 28; admission is by donation.

Guests will also have an opportunity to learn more about the selection process at the “Walk with the Jurors” event on April 25. This guided experience lets attendees hear directly from jurors about how they made their choices and what distinguished certain pieces, providing a unique insight into the exhibition overall.

Additionally, visitors can cast their votes for their favorite artwork. Ballots collected throughout the duration of the show will determine who receives the People’s Choice Award, which will be revealed on June 19.
