Durham Regional Police Service have taken a 53-year-old man from Apsley, Ont. into custody regarding an alleged ‘historic’ sexual assault.
Authorities say the complainant worked for the suspect when the supposed sexual assault happened at a business near Taunton Road and Brock Street in Whitby.
During the alleged victim’s time working there, police reported that the suspect made “unprofessional remarks and touched the victim inappropriately.”
Following their investigation, police arrested Sean Godfrey and charged him with three counts of sexual assault.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) public register lists a pediatrician with the same name as the suspect who practices at 200 Taunton Road West in Whitby. Story continues below The CPSO’s website noted that this pediatrician was charged on April 2, 2024, with three counts of sexual assault occurring between January 1, 2020, and March 31, 2020, by Durham Regional Police Service.
