Regional police are looking into a crash in Wilmot Township that led to one person’s death.
Waterloo Regional Police Service reports that emergency services responded to calls about a collision at the intersection of Bridge Street and Diamond Road in Wilmot Township Saturday around 4:55 p. m.
The initial investigation found that two vehicles, a grey Toyota and a white Honda, collided at the intersection.
Police stated that the driver of the Toyota, a 70-year-old woman from Wilmot Township, was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old man from Kitchener along with two passengers, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. A third passenger in the Honda was transported to an out-of-region hospital due to life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information or dash camera footage of the incident is encouraged to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
