Kerrfest is taking place in Oakville this weekend, and there’s a change in the lineup.
Canadian new wave group The Spoons will hit the Kerrfest stage on Saturday, September 12th, stepping in for Freedom Train who was initially scheduled to perform.
Kerrfest mentioned that Freedom Train can’t play due to unexpected circumstances, but they look forward to having the band back at a future event.
The Spoons will take the stage from 5:45 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. They’re famous for Canadian hits like Nova Heart, Romantic Traffic, Tell No Lies, and Old Emotions.
Their album Arias & Symphonies was recognized by Chart Magazine as one of the 20 most influential Canadian albums of the 1980s. During that decade, they also toured with international artists such as The Police, Simple Minds, and Culture Club.
They’ve continued to create music and perform all over Canada, including their release of New Day New World in 2019.
Kerrfest runs from Friday, September 11th to Sunday, September 13th at Westwood Park located at the corner of Kerr and Bond Street in Oakville. Kerrfest Kids will be happening Sunday from 11:00 a. m. to 3:45 p. m.
