A documentary film crew is coming to Cambridge this week to capture the essence of Bavarian festivities in the tri-cities.
This Wednesday, Oct. 14, MARKD Productions will be on Dickson Street outside Cambridge City Hall filming the Cambridge Oktoberfest Lunch.
The filming will take place for just one day.
City officials have assured that there will be no disruptions to traffic or parking in the surrounding area.
The upcoming documentary, Europe in Ontario, will highlight the Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge communities and their contributions to the rich diversity stemming from the province’s European heritage.
A post on MARKD Productions’ social media says, “For Europe in Ontario, these moments are about more than a film. They’re about how culture becomes part of a place, how traditions bring people together, and how each generation makes them its own. This is what we’re here to capture. And we’re just getting started.”
The crew has already filmed some footage during Thanksgiving weekend of Oktoberfest events in Kitchener at The Walper Hotel and Concordia Club, along with the official keg-tapping downtown.
MARKD Productions has also teamed up with the Downtown Kitchener BIA to gather footage for this December’s Christkindl Market and with the Uptown Waterloo BIA for filming in Uptown Waterloo.
