York Regional Police have shared video footage of a suspect linked to an arson incident at a car dealership in Vaughan.
According to the police, officers were patrolling near Chrislea Road and Jevlan Drive around 1:40 a. m. on Wednesday when they noticed multiple vehicles ablaze in the dealership’s parking lot.
The fire department was called, and firefighters quickly put out the flames.
No injuries occurred, and there was no damage to the dealership building; however, five vehicles suffered significant damage.
The released video shows a single suspect carrying a plastic bag with containers while walking towards the cars in the lot.
This individual then pours what seems like an accelerant on two vehicles before igniting them. The fire rapidly spreads to other nearby cars.
The male suspect escaped in a light-colored SUV, last spotted heading north on Jevlan Drive.
He was seen wearing a black jacket with the hood up, blue jeans, and black shoes.
