A motorcyclist, aged 74, has passed away following a single-vehicle accident in Vaughan on Friday evening, according to Ontario provincial police.
The incident took place in the eastbound lanes of Highway 407 near the interchange for Highway 400 northbound. Emergency services were alerted about the crash at approximately 7:15 p. m.
<p. Paramedics from York Region reported that they transported one individual to a nearby hospital.
<p. As per the OPP, the motorcyclist, who was from Cookstown, Ont., lost control of his bike and collided with a guard rail.
<p. Police shut down the eastbound ramp of Highway 407 leading to Highway 400 and two eastbound lanes of Highway 407 as they investigated the scene.
<p. All lanes were anticipated to reopen around midnight, stated the OPP.
