Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz had to leave his start before Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators after he was hit in the throat by a puck during warmups.

Stolarz was taken to the hospital for scans. *This article will be updated once the team shares more about his condition.

This season, Stolarz has played 21 games and has a save percentage of.894, which is his lowest ever, along with a goals against average of 3.34. His record stands at 8-9-3 as Toronto currently sits second-to-last in the Eastern Conference with a 29-28-13 record.

The 32-year-old goalie had an impressive last season for the Maple Leafs, achieving a record of 21-8-3 with a.926 save percentage and a 2.14 GAA over 34 games (33 starts). He has never participated in more than 35 games within one season.

Stolarz joined from the Florida Panthers last season, where he served as backup to Sergei Bobrovsky. His current contract with the Leafs is worth $15 million over four years and will extend through the end of the 2029-2030 season.
