FIFA World Cup: How to catch the Portugal vs. Croatia game in Toronto

The final group-stage match in Toronto took place on June 26, where Iraq faced Senegal, ending with a thrilling 5-0 victory for Senegal and an enthusiastic crowd.

Now, everyone’s eyes are set on the Round of 16 matches, featuring the highly awaited clash between Portugal and Croatia this Thursday at 7 p. m. in Toronto, ahead of Canada’s knockout game against Morocco on Saturday afternoon. Both Portugal and Croatia secured second place in their groups, Group K and Group L, respectively.

No matter who you’re cheering for in international soccer, here’s where to enjoy the matches around the Toronto area, no matter where they’re being played worldwide.

TV and streaming

If you want to watch from home, Bell Media holds the exclusive Canadian broadcasting rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

This means that all matches-yes, all 104-will air exclusively on TSN and RDS in Canada, with some games also available on CTV, Noovo, and via streaming on Crave.

Toronto watch parties

<p Fans supporting both Portugal and Croatia will gather for fan marches leading up to Thursday's match at 7 p. m.

Portugal supporters are expected to start marching at Stanley Park at 4 p. m., heading toward Princes’ Gates at Exhibition Place for a designated pickup spot near the FIFA Fan Festival.

Croatia fans plan to meet at Toronto Event Centre by Dufferin Gate at Exhibition Place around 5 p. m. before marching together to Toronto Stadium. This location will be known as Croatia House and will feature festivities starting at 1 p. m., along with a watch party for the match.

Meanwhile, Portuguese fans will be spread across various locations throughout the city including Little Portugal – more details below.

Cafés and restaurants like Casa Benfica are welcoming supporters who wish to gather while watching their team play. Macedo Winery on Dufferin Street is showcasing all World Cup games along with Portuguese wine flights, charcuterie boards, coffee options, and pastries.

FIFA Fan Festival

Audience members of all ages can enjoy live broadcasts of matches displayed on large screens while experiencing music, art displays, food offerings alongside “unforgettable vibes” at two festival locations downtown Toronto.

The free event encourages attendees to wear red-and-white jerseys creating a lively atmosphere combining elements from watch parties into one grand national celebration. This event runs between June 11 through July 2 on select days.

Distillery DistrictThe historic Distillery District offers over 50 viewing screens scattered across its expansive site including a massive outdoor screen measuring 140 inches situated on its Pure Spirit Patio showing every match before 10 p. m.

Guests can order from diverse menu selections dubbed “World of Flavours,” enjoying cold beer on tap along with unique cocktails.

El Catrin-the restaurant inside distillery featuring Canada’s largest tequila collection-will present matches using four large screens outdoors plus one big projection indoors too.

Madrina Bar y Tapas has two large screens outside; meanwhile Mill Street Beer Hall boasts over forty TVs airing each game along with Spirit of York screening matches as well too.

Nathan Phillips SquareJust days prior kickoff announcement revealed Nathan Phillips Square would host several game viewings complete with other activities bringing fun into play!However due extreme heat forecast city officials announced cancellations regarding broadcast scheduled July second citing safety concerns managing large crowds attending fan events around town that day.

University Of Toronto<pp St George Campus – King's College Circle U Of T plans hosting watch gatherings during three Team Canada's games inviting students faculty staff & community members joining together!
