Four people, including two kids, were taken to the hospital early Tuesday morning after a two-alarm fire erupted in a Toronto highrise.
According to police, emergency teams were alerted to Ontario Street and St. James Avenue at 3:11 a. m. about reports of a fire in an apartment.
Toronto fire Division Commander John Carson informed reporters that crews encountered intense heat and flames but managed to extinguish the blaze quickly.
Two adults – one man and one woman – along with two children aged 12 and 14 were hospitalized. The woman and children were under observation, while the man is receiving treatment for second-degree burns, Carson stated.
