1952 – 2024
William (Bill) Ball, a devoted father and retired teacher, passed away peacefully at Saint Luke’s Place in Cambridge on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the age of 71. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease early on, Bill faced his challenges with great strength.
Born in 1952 to William and Betty Ball in Tillsonburg, he was the eldest of eight siblings. He leaves behind his beloved sons Ryan and Randal. He will be deeply missed by his mother Betty and his brothers and sisters Gerald (Sandra), Lyle (Christine), Darrell (Mabell), Karen (Stephen), Derrick (Christi), Donald (Barbara), Kathryn (Jeff), along with many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
Bill had many interests but had a special love for travel. His adventures allowed him to form incredible friendships all around the world. At just 18 years old, he traveled to New Zealand where he met his first wife and became a proud father of two sons whom he adored. An avid reader, he cherished classic Canadian literature from a young age. His enthusiasm for learning never faded; it drove him to become a teacher-something that gave him immense fulfillment. He also loved music and shared that passion with both Ryan and Randal. Their experiences at concerts left lasting memories; they’ll always remember their first Bryan Adams and Green Day shows.
Cremation has occurred, and a Celebration of Life will take place from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Fiddle and Firkin located at 707 King Street East in Cambridge, Ontario. You can find the event link below:
