Three people have lost their lives following an accident near Tillsonburg, located about 43 kilometres from London, Ont., according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Officers arrived at the scene where an SUV collided with a pickup truck on Mall Road between Oxford Road 13 and Middletown Line around 4 p. m. on Friday, as stated in a news release from the OPP.

Authorities reported that both passengers in the pickup truck were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but were later pronounced dead. The driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to the hospital.

The 75-year-old driver of the SUV was likewise taken to hospital and declared dead.

OPP mentioned that they are still looking into what caused the crash. Anyone who has information is encouraged to reach out to police or Crime Stoppers.

The roads were closed for several hours while investigators worked, but they have since been reopened, police said.
