KOVACS, John Frank – “Died in the Line of Duty in service with the Tillsonburg Fire Services”, after a brave fight on Monday, September 28th, 2015. John Frank Kovacs, who lived in Tillsonburg, was the Owner/Insurance Broker at E. R. Adams Insurance in Tillsonburg. He was a devoted husband, son, father, and grandfather at the age of 54. John was born and raised in Tillsonburg and grew up in the Houghton area (RR #5 Langton). He was the son of Emily Kovacs (née Balazs) and friend Larry Vantyghem and also the son of the late John L. Kovacs (April 1st, 1999). He was a deeply loved husband and soulmate to Lena (Giesbrecht) Kovacs for twenty-one years and a caring father to Travis John Earl Kovacs (Linda Pham) and Nicole Stuyt (Kevin Stuyt), as well as stepfather to Nicolas Bartsch, Henry Bartsch (Brook Marshall), and Rebecca Bartsch. Proud grandfather to Lucas John Stuyt and Hunter Scott Stuyt. He had a close bond with his sister Evelyn Kovacs-Salhani and her son Jason Theodore John Salhani who he cherished as his nephew. Predeceased by his beloved son John Earl Kovacs (January 4th, 1988). Friends, neighbors, and relatives are invited to visit from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOME , located at 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg (519) 842-4238 on Friday, October 2nd, 2015. A funeral service celebrating John’s life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s United Church located at 88 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg by Rev. Ted Smith of Courtland United Church. Following this service there will be cremation with an inurnment scheduled for a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Langton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in John’s name to Von Sakura House or M. D. Association or to Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital or L. H.
