HAMILTON – Doug Ford, the leader of the Ontario PC Party, announced today that community advocate, business owner, and Hamilton City Councillor Jeff Beattie will represent the Ontario PC Party as the candidate for Hamilton East-Stoney Creek in the upcoming provincial by-election.

A lifelong resident of Winona and a proud sixth-generation Stoney Creeker, Beattie runs Winona Gardens alongside his wife, Tina. Established by his grandfather in 1953 on family land that dates back to 1890, their business earned the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce’s Legacy Award in 2018. In addition to this role, Beattie has been a trustee for the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, served as Vice-Chair, and represented Ward 10 as a Councillor while staying involved with groups such as the Winona Peach Festival, 1st Winona Scouting, and Fifty United Church.

“Jeff Beattie has spent his life giving back to Hamilton East-Stoney Creek,” said Doug Ford, Leader of the Ontario PC Party. “As a successful small business owner, dedicated community volunteer and respected city councillor, Jeff has a proven record of delivering results. He understands the priorities of local families and will be a strong voice as we continue protecting Ontario, creating good-paying jobs, building infrastructure and investing in the services people rely on.”

Under Doug Ford’s leadership, Hamilton East-Stoney Creek has seen significant investments in health care and infrastructure. This includes an expanded emergency department at Hamilton General Hospital; a new patient tower at Juravinski Hospital; a new 224-bed long-term care home in Stoney Creek; the opening of Confederation GO Station; construction of the new Grimsby GO Station; investments in local water infrastructure to support new housing; and funding aimed at connecting more residents of Hamilton to primary care.

“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to represent the community that has given so much to me and my family,” said Jeff Beattie. “Hamilton East-Stoney Creek is a great place to live, work and raise a family, and I want to continue fighting for the people who call it home. As part of Doug Ford’s team, I’ll work every day to build on the progress we’ve made, strengthen our local economy and continue delivering the investments our community needs.”
