A 58-year-old woman from Sault Ste. Marie has lost her life following a motorcycle crash east of Thunder Bay.
Thunder Bay OPP report that officers and emergency responders were dispatched to Highway 11/17 close to Highway 527 around 7:30 a. m. on Saturday.
According to police, the incident involved several motorcycles.
The woman was declared dead at the scene.
Highway 11/17 is currently shut down between Highway 527 and Mac Gregor Road.
OPP indicate that a lengthy closure is anticipated as the investigation proceeds.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team is assisting with the inquiry, which includes a collision reconstructionist and a technical collision investigator.
