A tornado alert is now in effect for a large part of northwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow alert stretching from Kenora and Dryden, up to Sioux Lookout, down to Fort Frances and Rainy River, reaching Atikokan, Ignace, and Upsala, and as far north as Armstrong, Wabakimi Provincial Park, and Gull Bay.
The agency indicates that conditions are right for severe thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes.
This warning will be active from this afternoon until late tonight.
