A number of northwestern Ontario municipal hearth companies have acquired further funding from the provincial authorities.

Most are receiving Fireplace Prevention grants to assist them broaden most cancers prevention initiatives and improve emergency response to incidents involving lithium-ion batteries.

Funding ranges from $16,000 to $35,000 for many communities.

Oliver-Paipoonge and Thunder Bay are getting greater quantities.

The province introduced earlier this 12 months that it was doubling the sum of money accessible from $10 million to $20 million.
