ST. THOMAS – Just before 6 p. m. on March 18, three masked individuals broke into Muscat’s Jewellers by smashing the front door and quickly raiding the display cases for jewelry.
After stealing the items, they fled from the Talbot Street store and jumped into a getaway car that later crashed into a transport truck on Highway 401 near Cambridge, according to St. Thomas police.
The suspects ran away, but Ontario Provincial Police used search dogs and aerial support to locate four individuals and recover a vehicle reported stolen from Toronto. Four teens from the Toronto area are facing charges related to the robbery.
