Chilly weather is about to bring the season’s first frost to Hamilton, Brantford, St. Catharines, and the Niagara area starting Monday night.
Environment Canada has put out a yellow frost advisory indicating that temperatures are likely to drop to around or below freezing overnight and into early Tuesday morning.
This frost advisory affects most of southern Ontario, from Windsor in the west all the way east to Ottawa.
The cold could harm plants, trees, and crops, especially those that are sensitive to frost, according to the federal weather agency.
People are encouraged to take steps to protect their plants in areas prone to frost.
Environment Canada is reminding everyone to keep an eye on weather alerts and forecasts.
