A man and a woman have been charged with drug trafficking after someone died in Simcoe on Saturday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a call about an unresponsive person at a location on Queen Street North at 2 p. m. on Oct. 3.

“A post-mortem examination determined the cause of death to be a drug overdose,” said police.

Two suspects were taken into custody and charged regarding the person’s death.

Hannah Brochu, 19, from Oxford County, and Thomas Mac Leod, 22, from Haldimand County are both facing charges related to opioid trafficking.

Police have stated that the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit an online tip at ontariocrimestoppers. ca.
