A manufacturer of medical simulation “phantoms” in Windsor-Essex has received support from Queens Park.
True Phantom Solutions Inc., based in Tecumseh, announced on Monday that it will invest $1.4 million to grow its current product lines and enhance its manufacturing capabilities. This investment is backed by a $188,000 grant from the Ontario government’s Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.
The funding will also create six new full-time positions.
“Through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, our government is helping local manufacturers invest in advanced technology, bring new products to market and strengthen our region’s reputation as a hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing,” said Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie.
Founded in 2014, the company has clients around the world for its lifelike medical simulators, or phantoms. These tools mimic the actual structure of human and animal bones and tissue. The phantoms are utilized for medical research and training purposes.
This investment will enable the company to acquire advanced equipment that will elevate its phantom production and lead to new products like female full-body and torso phantoms, as well as a small canine phantom.
