A manufacturer from Windsor-Essex that makes medical simulation “phantoms” has received support from Queens Park.
True Phantom Solutions Inc., a company based in Tecumseh, shared on Monday that it will be investing $1.4 million to grow its product offerings and manufacturing capabilities. This investment is backed by a $188,000 grant from the Ontario government’s Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.
This funding will also create six new full-time positions.
“Through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, our government is helping local manufacturers invest in advanced technology, bring new products to market and strengthen our region’s reputation as a hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing,” said Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie.
The firm was established in 2014 and serves customers around the globe with its realistic medical simulators, known as phantoms. These products mimic the actual structure of human and animal bones and tissues. The phantoms are utilized for medical research and training purposes.
<p. With this investment, the company will acquire advanced equipment to enhance its phantom production and develop new items such as female full-body and torso phantoms, along with a small canine phantom.
