A fire broke out at a commercial building in Comber, leading to an investigation as the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) consider it suspicious.

At about 1 a. m. on Sunday, Essex County OPP and the Lakeshore fire department arrived at the scene on Industrial Road.

Police reported that there were no injuries.

The OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation, with assistance from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall.

Authorities haven’t disclosed any information regarding potential damages.

Investigators are requesting local businesses to check their surveillance footage from around the time of the incident and report any unusual activity. Anyone with information should reach out to the Essex OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
