A man from Brampton has been charged with several crimes following a shooting that took place in Oakville on Friday afternoon.
According to Halton Regional Police, the event occurred shortly after 12 p. m., when an individual in a vehicle reportedly fired multiple rounds at another car on Progress Court near South Service Road.
Authorities state that no one was hit or injured during the incident and the vehicle involved sped away eastbound on South Service Road toward Fourth Line.
While it is believed that the shooting was targeted, police have indicated that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Justin Tasevski, 29 years old, was taken into custody and faces two counts of attempted murder, two counts of discharging a firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and failing to comply with a release order.
Police report that Tasevski was held in custody and appeared in court on March 29. He is set to return to court in Milton on April 1.
The weapon used in the shooting has not yet been recovered, according to officers.
