David Knight and Graham Mac Donald, both found guilty of first-degree murder in 2018, have had their appeal denied regarding the death of 39-year-old Carmela Knight. This tragic case took place in the peaceful neighborhood of Pickering, Ontario, where Carmela was discovered dead in her charred garage. The shocking details emerged when Mac Donald, the hired hitman, inadvertently confessed to undercover police officers during a sting operation.

The two men aimed to overturn their convictions by challenging the admissibility of Mac Donald’s confession, claiming it was an abuse of process. However, Ontario’s top court upheld the original decision, emphasizing the validity of the evidence collected. The motive behind the murder stemmed from Carmela’s discovery of her husband’s affair, which prompted her to file for divorce and seek child and spousal support. David Knight’s scheme, as revealed in court, was to get rid of his wife so he could be with his mistress in Florida and collect an $850,000 life insurance payout.
