Man Arrested for Alleged Assaults on Children in Ontario

A man from Pickering, Ont. is facing 22 charges following an investigation into the sexual assault of two children.

Authorities were notified in July about reports that a man had visited the homes of two girls and allegedly touched them inappropriately.

According to police, the man is acquainted with both victims’ families.

After an investigation, police claim the suspect sexually assaulted the victims multiple times between November 2025 and July 2026.

Faruk Dewan, 63, was taken into custody in August and faces 11 counts of sexual assault along with 11 counts of sexual interference involving a person under 16.

Investigators state that Dewan conducts art lessons from his home in Pickering and they are worried there may be additional victims.

Dewan was kept in custody pending a bail hearing.
