A man is currently in stable condition at a Toronto hospital following a shooting that occurred in a residential area of Pickering early Saturday morning.

Durham Police were alerted to an armed person situation at 3:40 a. m. on Saturday, near Woodview Avenue and Hogarth Street in the city’s west side. Officers found out that someone had been shot and that a sedan was seen departing the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult man with a gunshot wound. They also found a vehicle that had sustained damage from a bullet.

The victim was taken to a trauma center in Toronto and is reported to be stable.

Currently, authorities believe this was an isolated event and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage, including dashcam recordings, to reach out to them.
