Police have arrested a second individual linked to what they described as a “targeted” shooting in Peterborough, Ontario, that occurred earlier this month.

The incident took place on March 8 at an apartment on George Street North and resulted in one woman being airlifted to a hospital in Toronto.

Two days after the shooting, Peterborough Police Service Chief Stuart Betts mentioned that the case was tied to the “drug subculture” and noted that a couple from Peterborough were victims of a robbery related to money.

According to police, there was a physical altercation during the robbery, resulting in a 39-year-old woman from Peterborough being shot. A 47-year-old man from Peterborough was not hurt.

The first suspect, a 23-year-old man from Oshawa, was taken into custody on March 18 in Oshawa and is facing nine charges including two counts of attempted murder with a firearm and robbery with a firearm.
