On Saturday, July 4th, rain interrupted what was supposed to be a fun night at Peterborough Speedway. The racing events were canceled, and now drivers, teams, and officials are looking forward to the next event on the 2026 schedule.

The upcoming attraction at the popular Cottage Country oval is the New Country KX 105 Mid-Season Bash on Saturday, July 11th. This event will see the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Models returning, along with home track favorites like Switch Tire Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Late Model, and Nadeau’s Collision Service Junior Late Models. There will also be Kid’s Barrel Races during intermission for some extra fun.

For the first time since 2017, the JRS Auctions Outlaw Super Late Model presented by Just Foam It Spray Insulation events will operate under the OSCAAR banner again. The last tour stop – the Gold Rush 126 at Flamboro Speedway – ended with Treyten Lapcevich taking home the win. Jake Sheridan and Andrew Gresel rounded out the podium finishes.

As we approach Saturday’s Mid Season Bash on July 11th, John Lavalle leads in Mini Stock points. Cameron Mc Glashan and Christen Lavalle are tied for second place but sit just 11 points behind him. In Renegade Truck standings, Kyle Gordon and James Townsend have given Gordon Racing’s No. 52 car a solid lead. Adam Chatten is in second place trailing by 10 points while Stephen Bierworth follows closely in third place at an 18-point difference from first place. Dan Mc Hattie holds onto his spot atop the Late Model standings with a narrow margin of just 13 points over reigning track champion Ryan Kimball; Kelly Balson sits third after being last week’s main event winner and is now trailing by 16 points.

This marks the third of four scheduled dates for Junior Late Models this season as their show on Saturday, May 23rd was rained out. On June 20th, Brody Coates celebrated his first career feature win followed by Lucas Finnegan winning a week later while subbing for an injured Avery Kirkpatrick. Currently leading is car No. 13 with a four-point edge over Coates while Owen Ephgrave sits in third place trailing by another 16 points.

Grandstand gates will open on Saturday, July 11th at 5:00 p. m., and fans can expect to see that evening’s first Great Canadian RV green flag wave at around six o’clock.

There’s still lots more exciting action planned as Peterborough Speedway gears up for the latter half of its busy schedule in 2026. For updates or more information check out www. peterboroughspeedway. com or follow along on social media platforms related to the track.
