US President Donald Trump suggested that he might initiate criminal probes or disclose harmful information regarding former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden if Democrats try to impeach him again, during an interview with Rob Finnerty on Newsmax’s Finnerty on Thursday.
Trump stated he had previously passed up chances to go after his political rivals legally but hinted that he could change his mind if Democrats win control of Congress in the upcoming November 3 midterm elections and attempt another impeachment.
“I could have done numbers on Hillary Clinton,” Trump remarked. “I could have done numbers on Bill Clinton. I do like Bill Clinton. I could have done numbers on Barack Hussein Obama. Still could, I still could, I could do big numbers if I wanted to.”
“I’m talking about going after them criminally, or I could have done something related to their reputations [and] destroyed their reputations,” he added.
Trump claims to possess damaging information on Democratic rivals
Trump also asserted that his administration has potentially damaging intel about Clinton, Obama, and Biden but did not offer any proof or specify what the details were.

“I could have done something related to their reputations, destroyed their reputations,” he mentioned. “We have a lot of information about Hillary. We have a lot of information about Barack Hussein Obama. We have a lot of information on Sleepy Joe Biden.”
When Finnerty inquired whether he planned to act on that information, Trump seemed open to the idea.
“Well, I mean, I guess not. Probably not. But I think if they impeach me again, you know, again,” Trump responded.
“Things could get ugly,” Finnerty interjected.
The president made similar comments during an Oval Office event on October 7 when he expressed that he had held back from pursuing political opponents out of respect for the office he holds.
Democrats weigh impeachment as midterm elections approach
These remarks come as Democrats aim to regain control of Congress in the midterms elections which may pave the way for renewed investigations into Trump’s administration.
Democratic leaders haven’t confirmed plans for impeachment if they take back the House of Representatives.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries noted last month that Democrats haven’t ruled out nor committed to another impeachment effort while House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar stated impeachment isn’t one of their main priorities.
Trump was impeached twice during his first term and acquitted by the Senate both times; he questioned what grounds Democrats might use for a third impeachment attempt.
“The only thing they can impeach me for is making our country really strong,” Trump remarked.
He also hinted that another impeachment push might ultimately help Republicans politically arguing that past attempts at impeachment hadn’t harmed his support among followers.
“And I’ve become good at anti-impeachment. I call it the anti-impeachment movement,”he said.
