An 87-year-old woman from Carleton Place has passed away in the hospital following a crash on Boxing Day, according to police.

The woman was one of the drivers involved in a two-vehicle accident in Innisville, Ont., east of Perth, as stated by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in a news release on Thursday.

The crash took place shortly after 2:30 p. m. on December 26, and both drivers were transported to the hospital. The woman died on New Year’s Day, police reported.

Lanark OPP mentioned they worked with other units during their investigation and found that one vehicle had “pulled onto Highway 7” and collided with an approaching vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
